Olaniyi Mikail Afonja(Born 14 October 1974) popularly known as Sanyeri is a popular well-known Nigerian Actor, Comedian and Filmmaker. He is popularly known for his role in Abuke Oshin( 2019), Blackout(2021), The Cock-tale(2020) and Ewon Ife (2021).
■ Education & Acting career
Born on 14, October 1974. Sanyeri attended St.Michael Primary school for his primary school education and Durbar Grammar school, Oyo Town for his secondary school education, but did not complete his tertiary education as he did not proceed to University.
When in Jss3, he was introduced to Mr Seyi Adeoye of Motion picture by his late friend Late Sheriffideen Lawal, he joined the group headed by Late Seyi Adeoye, grooming his skills and performing in concert and appearing in movies alongside his friend Adebayo Tijani, however in 1996, Sanyeri and his friend Adebayo Tijani decided to exit the group and go to Lagos to groom their career and achieve success in their Acting career.
Getting to Lagos in 1996, they joined the Alhaji Akeem Jalingo group, where they worked for three years, been in the group was not an easy situation, but the Actor was able to scale through, after three years they left the group and started acting on their own.
Sanyeri begin to release movies in 2004 including Omo mi(2006), Apesin and a lot more, scaling through and attaining ground in the industry. In 2008, he saw his rise in prominence when he debuted in Adaba 1&2, the movie was a success, that serves as a Break ground for the Actor, he also got a lot of personalized gifts for his incredible performance in the movie.
Sanyeri also debuted in Jenifa (2008), a movie written by Funke Akindele and Directed by Muhydeen S. Aside, making an appearance alongside Tope Adebayo, OdunOdunlade Adekola, Owolabi Adelalaja Kemi Afolabi, Iyabo Ojo and Eniola Badmus. the movie was nominated for four Awards at The Africa Movie Academy Award in 2008.
In 2019, he made an appearance in Abuse Oshin, a blockbuster movie where he acted as the ruthless and powerful Hiccup King who terrorises the community, the movie was a hit and the meme extracted from the movie image was used as Meme in various social media in the country in 2019/2020. An accomplished actor, a Comedian loved for his Comic in movies, he has acted and debuted in over Fifty Movies as an actor. He has debuted and featured in movies with Madam Saje ( Fausat Balogun), Antar Laniyan, and a lot of other prominent actors and actress.
