Chibuzor Nelson Azubuike ( Born on October 9, 1986), professionally and popularly known as Phyno is a Nigerian Singer, Rapper, Singer, and Record producer. he is well known for rapping in the Igbo language. He rose to prominence when he released His debut studio Album No Gut No in 2014, the album features guest presences from Psquare, Olamide, Flavour, Omawumi, Runtowm, and many prominent Musician, it was released by Sputnet Records and Penthauze music, the album was supported by Four singles including ” Ghost Mode” ” Man of the year”, Parcel and “O Set”

* Early life

Pyhno was born in Enugu state, Nigeria though he hailed from Anambra state, He attended his pronst

He attended his primary and secondary school education in an unknown institution in Enugu, and after obtaining his west Africa Examination Certificate, he proceeded to the Institue of Management And Technology Enugu where he obtained a degree in Public Administration.

Phyno has an interest in Music production when he was young, due to this he earned his name phyno which is derived from phenomenal, he began playing drums and piano which draw him closer to Music Production. In 2010, he relocated to Lagos, then he decided to shift his career from music producer to Rapper, he decided to create music rapping in his native language Igbo and Pidgin, and he dropped various singles during the time between 2010 and 2012.

In 2012, he begin to record his debut studio album ” No Guts no Glory ” it was released by Sputent and Penthauze music on March 20, 2014, the album feature guest appearances from Psquare, Omawumi, Olamide, Flavour, Runtown, Ice Prince, Timaya and lot more, the album was initially Schedule for release in November 2013 but was postponed to capitalize on the downtime of the Nigeria Music, The album was supported by four singles ” Ghost Mode”, “Man of the year”, Parcel and “O Set”, The album was primarily recorded in Igbo and pidgin language, the album receive positive reviews and critics, commending it for its Indigenous sound and Lyrical depth.

On December 8, 2011, the remix of phyno debut ” “Multiply” was released as the lead single featuring guest appearances from Mr. Raw, Timaya, Flavour, and M.I Abaga.

On September 25, 2012, he released the olamide-assisted track ” Ghost Mode” as the second album single, the song was a hit bringing him to prominence and winning both Best Collaboration at both 2012 The Headies Award and the 2013 Entertainment Award. The Album’s third single ” Man of the year ” was released on March 23, 2013, the song was produced by phyno and won the Best Rap single at the Headies Award 2012.

In November 2015, phyno started a festival titled pynofest, he held the festival at Chuba Ikepazu stadium in Onitsha, Anambra state with an attendance of 12,000 people, following the next year he moved to Nnamdi Azikwe Stadium taking back his career to the city where he started he saw an increase with an attendance of 30,000 people. In November 2017, he brought back phoniest and put back the biggest concert in Africa by an artiste at the Nnamdi Azikwe Stadium, Enugu with an attendance of 50,000 people.

His sophomore LP, The playmaker arrived in 2016 and featured guest artists like 2Baba and Burnaboy, this was followed closely by the release of his third album ” Deal with it ” in 2019, the album features guest artist appearances like Olamide, Falz, Don Jazzy, Davido, Runtown, and Teni and it was supported by two singles Agu and The Bag. In July 2021, he released his hot single ” Bia”.
