* Biography

Leleti Khumalo born on March 30, 1970(52years) in Kwamashu Town, the North of Durban, South Africa is a South African Actress, musician, and Radio Presenter. She was just three years old when her father died, she was only left with her mother and three siblings. Her mother who worked as a domestic Laborer to support her family was unable to afford all their necessities, so Khumalo lived in dire poverty. Despite trouble and challenges Khumalo always derived joy from music and dance.

* Career

Due to her passion and love for music and dance, she joined Amakija a youth dance group in her backyard, a group trained by noted dancer and singer ” Tu Nokwe” who later become her mentor.

In 1992 she starred in her first movie titled ” Sarafina” as Sarafina in the movie which is set in Soweto, this movie is based on the Soweto uprising of June 16, 1976, and she starred in the leading role in Sarafina. She spent the next two years on a worldwide tour.

During the Apartheid era, Khumalo as a black South African actress is a force to be reckoned with, Khumalo does not consider the injustice of Apartheid.

Luleti khumalo released her first album leleti and the sarafina and co -starred in Ngema’s international hit musical at 4 A.M which was dedicated to the dead legend of boxer Muhammad Ali in 1993, she went on to produce and starred in many movies after that year

* Personal Life

Khumalo got married to Mbongeni Ngema in 1992 they got during the production of a Movie title, Sarafina but their marriage finally crashed in 2005 when they got separated, The actress revealed that she is not happy in the marriage and she got what she expected from marriage.

After her divorce she got married to Skhuthazo Winston Khanyile in 2012 Khumalo met Skhuthazo Winston Khanyile when she was working as a cabin Controller in South Africa, Leleti Khumalo got pregnant, during her pregnancy, her babies were triplet but due to miscarriage, she lost of one of her babies when she gave birth on 24th of May 2013 she gave birth to twins which are expected to be triplet but lost one of it and the twins survived.

She is diagnosed with the rare skin disease Vitiligo which has affected her skin condition, especially her face and hand, but this has not let her down she is committed to her responsibilities, and she also made her skin disease to be known to the world.
