In 1990, Kelani played a role in the American movie “Mister Johnson,” which was filmed in Nigeria. The film, based on a novel by Joyce Cary, featured Kelani as an actor and assistant director. Inspired by his experiences, Kelani founded Mainframe Films and Television Productions-Opomulero in 1991, allowing him to create movies and not just provide technical assistance.
