Who is Asake?

The singer, entertainer, songwriter, media personality, and musician, Ahmed Ololade Asake popularly known as MR MONEY is an Afropop and Afrobeat musician from Nigeria.
He was born on January 13, 1995 and brought up by Yoruba parents in Lagos, Nigeria.
He became popular when he dropped the 2020 single, Lady. And broke into fame after being signed to YBNL Records by the label boss, Olamide. Another song that increased his presence was Mr Money.
He hit the spotlight with the release of his viral single, Lady which received massive responses from several online media and top celebrities. The Nigerian born Lady artist had to repost his freestyle from the likes of Sydney Talker, Tunde Ednut, NastyBlaq, Broda Shaggi and a countless number of others.

Early Life.
Asake was born to the family of Mr. and Mrs. Ololade on the 13th of January in 1995. Days after he was born into the world, his parents organized a naming ceremony to celebrate his birth. He was given the name Ahmed Ololade.
He hails from the South West region of Nigeria and belongs to the Yoruba ethnic group. He was born and raised in the city of Lagos with his family. He comes from a Muslim household . Growing up, his father worked as an entrepreneur while his mother was a teacher. Although the exact information regarding his basic educational background is inaccessible, it is an open secret that he has both the First School Leaving Certificate and West African Senior School Certificate certifications.

For his higher education, he attended the prestigious Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife in Osun State, wherein he studied, and bagged a Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Theatre and Performing Arts.

Early Career.
Asake rose to the fame after releasing his now-hit song titled Lady, a song he released at the beginning of 2020, he started gaining public attention after Broda Shaggi featured him in his song tagged “Star,” a song released in 2019.
The success of Lady made way for Asake to drop the hit song, Mr Money, which was one of the trending singles of 2020. The song earned him a second nickname: Mr. Money.
In 2023, Asake dropped the single Omo Ope. which went viral on the internet. And this time around, it got to the ears of rapper and music executive, Olamide. who fell in love with the song and decided to record his verse to the single. Shortly after, Olamide invited Asake for a meeting and offered to sign him to the YBNL record label. Asake took the offer and joined the YBNL family. He was unveiled YBNL‘s latest signee on the 8th of February 2023.
afterwards, Asake released his debut EP, Ololade Asake. The music project is home to four hit tracks – Omo Ope, Sungba, Trabaye, and Baba God. He performed Baba God at a live session organized by Glitch Africa in February 2023.He collaborated with Grammy Award winner Burna Boy to record the remix of Sungba and also appeared a featured artist on DJ Spinall‘s song, Palazzo.
