Antar Babatunde laniyan( 26, May) is a popular Veteran Nigerian Actor ,Film Director and Film producer. Famously known for his role as director and actor in Aruga(2015) , Afua (2021) and Olufunmi (2005) . Antar laniyan is popularly known by his action portrayed in movie ,he has debuted in the Yoruba movie and Has made an appearance in Nollywood.

Early Life & Education

Antar Laniyan was born on 26,around 1960s in Osohogbo, Osun state Nigeria . He hailed from Osun state and it was there he obtained his primary school certificate,after completing his secondary school he moved to Lagos where he attended Baptist Secondary school , he proceeded further to University of Ibadan (UI) where he bagged degree in Theater Arts.

■ Acting Career

Growing up Antar Laniyan was motivated to be a soldier because of their discipline and nature , but in 1977 during the FESTAC Festival ,he witnessed the event and was fascinated with the euphoria in the Air, however this does not change his decision to become a soldier , he do partake in Drama group during his primary and secondary school days and his performance were brilliant, he was popular for his excellent acting skills that he was made the president of the dramatic society in his secondary school

When still in secondary, not dropping the ambition to become a soldier , he was called by his principal who encouraged him to go into acting ,as his skills were excellent and he could succeed it ,he was also pressured by Ben Tomoloju who was studying theater art then in University of Ibadan,this made him to change his mind , so he proceed to University of Ibadan where he studied Theater Art with the mindset of becoming actor .

Antar Laniyan started his acting in 1976 ,however he became professional under the tutelage of Ben Tomoloju in 1980. He started his career as a radio presenter , then he saw himself opportuned to come across Ben Tomoloju who got him registered in his group ” kakaaki group ” with the other boy that time.

He started first appearing in stage play before he appeared in “Everyone wants” where he acted as a major General it was his first appearance in on the screen,this was part of his days in Kakaaki Squad.

In the 1997,he debuted in Hostage alongside Jab Adu, Taiwo Ajai Lycett and Bukky Ajayi, . The following year he made an appearance in Sango: The African Legendary skills alongside Richard Oniga, Wale Adebayo ,Bunmi Sanya .

In 2000,he directed the opening of super story, The acclaimed opera Television series which was created by Wale Adenuga . He also produced and directed Film, This Life and oh father!, Oh daughter . Following the years after he directed Arewa(2003), Olufumi(2005), Durodola and Aruga (2015).

In 2011 he debuted in The Return of Jenifa, a movie written by Funke Akindele and Directed by Muhydeen S. Ayinde , Antar laniyan featured Alongside Funke Akindele ,Eniola Badmus mus and Ronke Ojo . He has debuted in over Thirty- Four movies as an actor and has directed over 5 movies .
